Our primary school mental health and wellbeing programmes are specifically for key stage 2, ages 7 to 11, designed to develop a better understanding of emotional vocabulary and how to process our feelings, as well as support year 6 students in their journey into year 7 and the changes that come alongside this.
Our programmes are ultimately designed to support the mental health and wellbeing needs of children as they move through Primary School. The focus of these programmes is emotional intelligence, and how this is what makes us who we are, defined by the ability to identify our emotions and understand what they mean, how they affect us, and even how we can regulate and express our emotions enough in a healthy and safe way.

This pair of friendly, specially commissioned characters have been designed to help our younger students on their self-esteem journey. They make regular appearances in the books and audio CDs and are also available as soft toy learning tools from our online shop. They can make a very tactile and positive contribution to our younger learners’ development.
Positive Parrot
The happy smile on the face of our super friendly Positive Parrot character, puts a bright smile on life, teaching our little learners the value of positivity.
Negative Newt
Poor old Negative Newt always sees his glass as half empty, which for a newt out of water is a pretty worrying situation!
Our Positive Parrot and Negative Newt Characters have been adapted into a series of books that are used as an integral part of our Primary School programmes.
