The programme is delivered over one day. Assessment is by a 45 minute multiple-choice examination consisting of 20 multiple choice questions.
Overview
The aim of this qualification is to provide candidates with a knowledge and understanding of the principles of mental wellbeing, the effect of mental wellbeing on the individual and community, and how mental wellbeing can be maintained or improved.

Overview
Learners will increase their knowledge and understanding of why people misuse substances, the personal and social consequences of this and how individuals can be helped and supported with regard to substance misuse.
To achieve this qualification a candidate must:

Understand the personal and social consequences of substance misuse
Know how to provide help and support to the individual with regard to substance misuse.

Overview
This qualification is for individuals with an interest in health who are also interested in helping others develop a healthier lifestyle by addressing the issue of alcohol misuse.
To achieve this qualification a candidate must:
Understand factors that result in people misusing alcohol
Understand the personal and social consequences of alcohol misuse
Know how to provide help and support to the individual
Time Required
Guided Learning Hours: 7 Guided Learning Hours, 8 Hours Total Qualification Time. Assessment: The knowledge and understanding of the candidates will be by a multiple-choice examination provided by RSPH. A candidate who is able to satisfy the learning outcomes will achieve a score of at least 14 out of 20 in the examination. Strong performance in some areas of the qualification content may compensate for poorer performance in other areas.
Overview
Learners will increase their knowledge and understanding of why individuals may not be at a healthy weight, the effect on health of this, the principles of healthy eating and how individuals can be helped and supported to achieve a healthy weight and eat healthily.

Overview
This qualification is for individuals who want to take on the role of a health champion helping young people to improve their health
This qualification will enable learners to provide peer support through an understanding of the individual and social drivers of healthy and unhealthy behaviours as well as signpost local health services. It will also provide knowledge of a health and wellbeing issue relevant to the learner and develop skills to deliver positive health messages.
Learners will take three mandatory units and one optional unit from a choice of seven.
Communication Skills

Understanding the way, we communicate with others helps us get the best out of the situation we are in. Focusing on how to improve interpersonal skills, build self-confidence, become more effective with communication skills.
Customer Care
Time required - half day session
Understand the impact that customer care has on the individual, and how improving these skills can make it easier to get better results. Improve your interpersonal skills, build self-confidence, become more effective with your interaction skills.
Conflict & Stress Management
Time required - half day session
Understand the impact of conflict and stress. Focusing on how to improve interpersonal skills, build self-confidence, become more effective with your conflict management/resolution.
Self-Development
Time required - full day session

Develop a cohesion and resilience balance. Develop skills and enhance what individual team members already have, but at times forget. By assessing the behavioural contribution individuals make to their work environment, rather than an abstract psychometric test which will tell you about their personality, we use Belbin to look at how people actually behave in the workplace and which roles they are best suited to take on without comparing them to others within the team.
Coaching for Managers
Time required - full day session

Introspection can be difficult, but it's essential for leaders to gauge how effectively they're connecting with staff, and to lead from the front in encouraging behavioural diversity. We use the Belbin profile to explore with the leaders their strengths. Belbin is a positive tool which promotes authentic leadership, helping leaders towards an honest assessment of their strengths and shortcomings. Armed with an understanding of their own behaviours, leaders can learn how best to adapt their leadership style to the working environment within their organisation to ensure a positive impact on those they lead.
Coaching / Team Building

This day develops skills and enhances what team members already have, but at times forget. By assessing the behavioural contribution individuals make to your teams, using Belbin to look at how people behave in the workplace and which roles they are best suited to take on in a team environment.
Assertiveness / Dealing with Difficult Situations / Challenging Behaviour
Time required - full day session
To enable learners to understand why difficult situations occur and to look at how we can prevent these situations re-occuring/occurring. Examine techniques for dealing with difficult situations assertively.
Motivational Interviewing
Time required - full day session
Motivational interviewing (MI) is a directive, client-centred style for eliciting behaviour change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence. The focus being on how you can improve your interpersonal skills, build self-confidence, become more effective with your interaction skills.
Working with Veterans Families
Time required - full day session
Increased confidence in knowing how to deal with specific transitional challenges that impact upon veterans and their families, and knowledge of how to support these challenges, and the impact of this transition on family members.
